Senators hold farewell meeting with UNRWA Jordan chief

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Sunday voiced his appreciation of the efforts of Roger Davies, who has completed his term as the UNRWA operations director in Jordan, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During a meeting which was held by the Senate’s Palestine Committee in the presence of head of the panel, Senator Haya Garalleh, and other lawmakers. Fayez reaffirmed Jordan’s stance in support of UNRWA’s mandate, pointing out Jordan’s firm stances towards the Palestinian cause, Jerusalem and the holy places.
For his part, Davies expressed his pleasure over the exerted efforts of the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah in gathering international support for the UNRWA, underlining the Kingdom’s role in hosting the Palestinian refugees, in addition to 1.3 million Syrian refugees.
