AMMAN — Minister of Government Communications and Government Spokesperson Faisal Shboul discussed ways to enhance media cooperation with a number of his Arab counterparts and Arab media leaders.

The meetings, which took place on the sidelines of the 53rd ordinary session of the Council of Arab Media Ministers hosted by Morocco, discussed the most prominent issues on the council's agenda, especially concerning the role of Arab media in serving joint Arab action, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During the meetings, Shboul reviewed Jordan's contributions to various relevant issues, notably the role of the media in serving the Palestinian cause, the Arab Media Action Plan Abroad and the map of sustainable development and Arab media excellence.

In a separate meeting, Saudi Minister of Media Salman Al Dossary received Shboul over means to expand media cooperation between the two kingdoms.

Dossary expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom's "outstanding" contributions under the umbrella of the Council of Arab Media Ministers and commended the draft strategy on dealing with international media companies, which Jordan had submitted under the mandate of Arab media ministers.

On the sidelines of the meeting of the council, Shboul attended an international symposium on "The role of the media in supporting the cultural identity of Jerusalem", which paid tribute to Jordan’s role in serving Jerusalem, and the Hashemite Custodianship over the city’s Islamic and Christian holy sites.
