SIGI publishes criminal statistical report for 2016

AMMAN — The Sisterhood Is Global Institute (SIGI) on Monday outlined the results of the annual criminal statistical report for the year 2016, issued by the Criminal Information Department in Jordan. According to a SIGI statement, the report confirmed the total number of criminal offences committed by Jordanians in 2016 to be 944, a decrease of 20 per cent compared to 2015.
Crimes committed by foreigners, however, decreased by 11 per cent, compared to 2015, when 70.3 per cent of those crimes were financial. The report stipulated that the crimes committed by foreigners which witnessed an increase included murder, assault of employees, kidnapping, defrauding and abortion, among others.
