Tawjihi results to be announced Thursday

AMMAN — Minister of Education Walid Maani is scheduled to hold a press conference on Thursday to announce the results of the 2019-2020 Tawjihi (general secondary education certificate examination).

"In a gesture, the first of its kind, the examination's top achievers will be attending the conference and will be honoured," Education Ministry Spokesperson Walid Jallad said on Tuesday. 

Meanwhile, the Public Security Department (PSD) said it had taken preventive measures to maintain order and security during the announcement of the Tawjihi results.

PSD urged the public to cooperate with authorities and respect the law when celebrating.

PSD patrols, security stations and plainclothes officers will be deployed across the country on Thursday, adding that it will take the “most severe” legal and administrative measures against those who disregard the risks of "reckless celebrations."
