‘Tourist restaurants incurred JD30 million in losses’

Feb 25,2015 - Last updated at Feb 25,2015

AMMAN – Tourist restaurants have incurred JD30 million in losses due to political unrest in the region and the recent unstable weather conditions in Jordan, Issam Fakhr Eddin, president of the Jordan Restaurants Association, said Wednesday.

Fakhr Eddin said these factors caused a “noticeable” decline in the tourist movement, especially to restaurants, which he said suffer many challenges, mainly the increase in taxes and operational costs.

He did not give a specific time frame for the recorded losses or elaborate on the process used to calculate them.
