Truck loaded with various smuggled goods seized

AMMAN — Anti-smuggling patrols in Amman have seized a truck loaded with various smuggled goods, including clothes, footwear, headphones and recorders, the Jordan Customs Department (JCD) spokesperson announced on Wednesday.
In a statement, the spokesperson said that the case related to the seized goods was referred to the customs public prosecution.
The JCD invited citizens to report any smuggled goods via anti-smuggling department’s numbers 0780323297, 0780323298 or via WhatsApp 0780381381.
Besides being involved in tax and customs evasion, all these merchandises are subject to approvals of regulatory bodies, including the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organisation (JSMO), the statement added.
