AMMAN — Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel have arrested two suspects who allegedly stole JD50,000 from a person who left money in his vehicle, a Public Security Department (PSD) statement said on Wednesday.
On April 19, the central Amman CID branch received a complaint from the victim, in which he said he had picked up JD50,000 from an exchange shop and left it in his vehicle to run some errands.
When returning to his car, he found that anonymous suspects had broken its glass and taken the whole sum, the PSD statement said, adding that an investigation team was formed and narrowed the search to two suspects wanted in previous cases.
The two suspects were tracked and arrested, and later confessed to committing the theft in cooperation with other accomplices. The search for the suspected accomplices is still ongoing. JD10,000 were retrieved from the arrested suspects.
