Two Jordanians detained in Syria return home after release

AMMAN — Ambassador Daifallah Fayez, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, on Wednesday said that Jordanian citizens Bassam Shurafat and Bashar Dardour, who were held in custody in Syria, have returned home following their release.
Their return was achieved in coordination with Jordan’s embassy in Damascus, which followed up on the case with the Syrian authorities.
Fayez said the embassy is continuing its contact with the Syrian government to secure the release of Jordanian citizens Jadaan and Awad Shurafat, who are still under arrest after more than a year, expressing hope that they will be released soon.
Fayez expressed gratitude to the Syrian government for its cooperation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
