UJ awards full scholarship to Olympic champion Abu Ghaush

AMMAN — The University of Jordan (UJ) has granted Olympic gold medallist Ahmad Abu Ghaush a full scholarship in recognition of his recent win in Rio, UJ President Azmi Mahafza said on Sunday. Mahafza expressed the university’s support for the taekwondo champion during a ceremony in his honour, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Abu Ghaush, who won gold in the taekwondo -68kg event, thanked UJ and his trainers for their support. Mahafza also presented plaques to the members of UJ’s delegation who participated in the Rio Olympics. Meanwhile, Capital Bank gave Abu Ghaush and his trainer Faris Al Assaf financial awards and saving accounts to celebrate the win.
