UJ, Teacher Academy to launch vocational diploma

AMMAN — University of Jordan President Azmi Mahafzah and Queen Rania Teacher Academy CEO Haif Banayyan on Tuesday signed an agreement to launch a vocational diploma programme on advanced educational leadership.

The one-year programme, prepared in cooperation with the University of Connecticut, aims to enhance school principals’ capabilities to make decisions and apply advanced leadership skills, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Mahafzah said the university would work to develop the educational process at schools, so as to improve the level of higher education students, which, as a result, would positively affect local and Arab markets.

Banayyan stressed the academy’s keenness to develop the quality of education in Jordan and the region by providing teachers with the skills necessary to excel in classrooms.
