AMMAN — A reception was held on Tuesday to host the deputy vice chairman of the University of Bedfordshire, Ashraf Jawaid, and to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the university’s partnership with Middle East University (MEU).
During the ceremony, the UK’s Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden highlighted the importance of education and praised the strength of the academic partnership between Bedfordshire University and MEU, according to a statement sent by the British embassy in Amman.
Jawaid was joined by the Minister of Education Walid Maani, Deputy CEO from the London School of Commerce John Philips and Yacoub Nasereddin, chairman of the MEU board of trustees.
Maani said during the ceremony that the Jordanian education system and specifically universities “have been looking forward to going out and collaborating with others because we think having a partnership of this sort not only strengthens the product which comes out, but also projects you [MEU] as a hub for education for other people who want to come and learn in Jordan”.
