AMMAN — The Jordan Free and Development Zones Group (JFDZG), in coordination with the government's tenders department, decided to combine the implementation of the Zip Line at Ajloun Forest Reserve as part of a unified tender to be floated by the end of August.
"The new tender will cancel the earlier one, and will cover the construction of the Zip Line's route, stations and the surrounding buildings," JFDZG Chairman Khalaf Hmeisat said in a statement issued on Sunday.
Hmesiat said that field coordination meetings have been recently held with the project's service providers.
The new measures were taken in light of the COVID-19 crisis, which postponed the tender to construct the Zip Line's stations and the towers holding it, Hmeisat said.
He added that the JFDZG is in coordination with the concerned government entities, including ministries and municipalities to follow up on matters related to tourism services and traffic solutions for the routes leading to the project's site in Ajloun.
The development area consists of three locations; the first is the main location, land plot number 36 extending over 142 dunnums.
The second is a location for an investment project that will be available for investment after implementation of the Zip Line starts, extending over 26 dunnums in plot number 43, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, the third is plot number 86, extending over 126 dunnums, and designated for constructing an eco-lodge, a restaurant and a cafe with various areas with benches among the trees, in addition to routes for horse riding and picnics, the statement concluded.
