AMMAN — The Hashemite University and the US Binghamton University on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding under which the latter would award at least 10 scholarships for the former’s students each year to pursue PhD degrees in all its scientific specialisations.
The memo also aims at boosting cooperation in scientific and research fields, exchanging faculty members, holding joint conferences and exchanging expertise, according to a Hashemite University statement.
Kamal Aldin Bani Hani, president of the Hashemite University, stressed the university’s keenness to offer scholarships to excelling students, noting that the university allocates 5 per cent of its annual budget for scholarships and scientific research.
Binghamton University President Harvey G. Stenger praised the Hashemite University’s projects that aim to “achieve positive change”.
