The Shield which ends on November 20 had teams playing in two groups with the top two of each group moving to the semis. Group A included Wihdat, Hussein, Ma’an, Shabab Urdun, Aqaba and Jazira. Group B included, Ahli, Faisali, Ramtha, Salt, Sarih, and Mughayer Sarhan.
Clubs played without key players on their lineups in the shortened competition this year, giving younger players a chance to gain competitive experience. Jordan plays Round3/ Group B qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup whileLeague titleholders Hussein and veterans Wihdat are also busy with Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Champions League Two matches.
Faisali are the event titleholders, while Wihdat who have not won a major title lately, have their eyes set on winning and repeating their 2008 season when they won all titles of the seasons.
