AMMAN — The Council of Ministers on Tuesday decided to allocate 700 dunums of land to the Jordan Valley Authority (JVA), delegating it to provide the necessary infrastructure and distribute parcels of the land to Sweimeh area residents.
Those who have not benefited from any previous land allocation will receive lands according to JVA’s instructions, while those who benefited from previous allocations will benefit from the decision according to the common price of lands in the area.
The Cabinet allocated 200 dunums from the total area for the Investment Commission to prepare a comprehensive blueprint to develop the Sweimeh area near the Dead Sea.
These procedures are aimed at addressing assaults on government-owned lands in the Dead Sea Development Zone, organising these lands, developing municipalities adjacent to the zone in a way that improves services presented to residents, and distributing development gains to poor areas.
