Agriculture Ministry keen on harnessing rainwater harvesting — Hneifat

AMMAN — The Agriculture Ministry hopes that water harvesting projects will continue to take advantage of rainfall in the Kingdom, Agriculture Minister Khalid Hneifat said on Wednesday.
Inaugurating an agricultural centre in Zarqa's Hashmieh District, Hneifat referred to a national project for the building of water harvesting structures to be implemented by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and the Royal Jordanian Geographical Centre, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He added that the ministry has floated a tender to establish 63 water harvesting structures and dams as well as 5,000 wells in the eastern mountains area.
