Cabinet approves mandates for 2021 draft bylaw on constituencies

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the mandates for the 2021 draft bylaw on governorate councils constituencies and referred it to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau with urgency.
Under the bylaw, governorates will be divided into constituencies to determine the number of representatives for each governorate council, prior to holding the governorate councils elections, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Meanwhile, the Council of Ministers approved the regulations of Irbid as the 2022 Arab capital of culture.
The Cabinet also approved the recommendations of the settlement and conciliation committee related to settling pending cases between 47 companies and taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department.
The Council of Ministers also decided to appoint Manar Mahasneh as secretary general of the Water Authority of Jordan after scoring the highest among all applicants who were interviewed by the ministerial committee designated to appoint leadership posts.
