AMMAN — The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has transferred JD6 million to Jordanian public universities, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Muhyiddine Touq said on Tuesday.
In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Touq said that the funding includes JD3.8 million as direct support from the government allocations to universities for 2020 and JD2.2 million in government support allocated to the ministry’s student support fund.
This move reflects the government and the ministry's keenness on providing financial support to universities in order to allow them to disburse employees’ salaries before Eid Al Fitr, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
