Jordan, Egypt discuss ties, resolving obstacles facing Egyptian expatriates

AMMAN — Labour Minister Samir Murad on Thursday discussed with Egypt’s minister of immigration and expatriate affairs, Nabila Makram, ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
Murad stressed that the distinguished historical ties between Jordan and Egypt would remain a solid guarantee to preserve the interests of both countries and peoples against all kinds of circumstances. He pointed out Jordan’s keenness to maintain open communication to overcome any obstacles facing Egyptian labourers in Jordan, in accordance with the rules and laws governing them, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
For her part, the Egyptian minister stressed that she would work through the available channels of communication to raise awareness of Egyptian labourers in Jordan and encourage them to legalise their situation, reiterating the importance of nourishing bilateral ties to the benefit of both countries.
