Prince Mired checks on accessibility at BRT stations

AMMAN — HH Prince Mired, president of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, on Tuesday stressed the importance of ensuring the implementation of accessibility standards to persons with disabilities as part of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The prince visited Sweileh Passenger Station, the University of Jordan Bridge, Sports City Intersection, and Ras Al Ain Passenger Station, as part of the bus project, to ensure availability of mobility requirements of persons with disabilities, in accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed between the council and the Greater Amman Municipality.
Rula Jaradat, the accessibility consultant of the council, noted that a transport facility especially designed for people with disabilities is an essential requirement that will enable them to access all different services.
