Tarawneh, human rights committee discuss UPR report

AMMAN — Government Coordinator for Human Rights Basel Tarawneh, members of the Standing Committee for follow-up on Human Rights Recommendations and ministry representatives on Sunday discussed the Universal Periodic Review of Human Rights (UPR) report, The Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Tarawneh said that Jordan has taken important steps in strengthening human rights, and has, since 2014, established new tools to continue doing so.
He highlighted the importance of focusing on national achievements in the field and emphasising them in international forums, especially during the discussion of Jordan's report to the United Nations Human Rights Commission in Geneva in the last quarter of 2018.
For their part, committee members reviewed important technical aspects related to the preparation of the report.
