Bigotry makes no peace

Apr 19,2016 - Last updated at Apr 19,2016

Listening to Netanyahu on Sunday, regarding his fantasy of keeping the occupied Golan Heights “forever”, just makes me wonder why he should even be allowed to talk nonsense in these crucial times.

Today we need sensible, mature leaders and motivating remarks.

Israel’s paranoia and pseudo-security propaganda it spreads should, by now, have shown the world that it is not interested in peace. Is not Netanyahu still making a fool of the entire world with his ignorant and provocative statements and actions?

What is the Arab world’s response?

I strongly feel that the Arab world lacks genuine unity, that it is in disarray.

The adage “united we stand divided we fall” is true.

Israel takes advantage of the Arab lack of unity and now is twisting Syria’s arm that already hurts.

Let us all contest the worthless comments Netanyahu makes. Regarding the Syrian peace talks, what right does he has to put conditions, as reported in the press, again putting his “security rhetorics” in context?

The whole world knows that Palestine is occupied by apartheid Israel, that Palestine was not a land without a people, as the Jews proclaim, that the Palestinians have the right to return to their homeland.

The world should make Netanyahu respect all UN resolutions, return to the 1967 borders, give East Jerusalem back to the Palestinians and the Golan Heights back to Syria.

It should back the Palestinians’ quest for their rights and make Netanyahu stop settlement expansion.

Only by doing that will peace prevail, or the world will have to live in constant fear, especially with Daesh round the corner.

Peace is made by peaceful people, not by bigots like Netanyahu.
