Preserving humanity

Apr 25,2015 - Last updated at Apr 25,2015

Humanity has been shameful for centuries.

Human beings are good at creating wars and better in commemorating them.

To me, this is simply and sadly pathetic.

We all make mistakes, but we should try to learn from them, to become better people.

Why do we keep committing massacres, genocides, wars and unwarranted killings?

We progress in technology, we go farther into the universe, but we cannot or do not seem able to save humanity.

We differ and fight in the name of religion, we lack understanding and goodwill, but we do not care for human life or dignity.

Where are we going?

We cannot get over colour, creed and gender issues, and we think we will be reaching Mars.

What good is it if we cannot help our neighbour, our fellow men around the planet?

We need to open our eyes and our hearts to other human beings who suffer and feel their pain.

Let us approach problems humanely. Let us start from our own courtyards and neighbourhoods.

Each one of us can make a difference, and collectively, we can avoid future human catastrophies.

Let us learn to be more decisive and flexible in our ways, which will help us solve problems of the past, rather than keeping playing the blame game.

We need to learn to be human.
