105,567 students do not attend lessons on Darsak platform — Nueimi

AMMAN — Seven per cent of school students reportedly do not attend their lessons on Darsak, the online learning platform, according to Minister of Education Tayseer Nueimi.

The minister, in response to MPs queries during the Lower House’s session held on Wednesday, said that 105,567 students do not follow their lessons, while 62 per cent attend their online classes on a daily base. Darsak platform, is owned by the ministry, he said, noting that Mawdoo3 company has donated JD2.45 million to develop the content of the platform.

He added that the company is still providing technical support to ensure sustainability, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The Telescope Productions will implement the production of the second semester’s content, he said, noting that a tender of JD360,000 was made. A total of 1,500 teachers, from public and private schools, have been chosen to take part in the online lessons, he added.
