2,600 institutions closed for violating defence orders — Trade Ministry

AMMAN — About 2,600 institutions have been closed since the beginning of the lockdown up until now in violation of precautionary measures concerning COVID-19 and defence orders, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply said on Sunday.
The ministry said that, in cooperation with the concerned bodies, it had conducted 2,860 inspection tours.
Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tareq Hammouri, in a statement carried by the Jordan News, Agency, Petra, said that joint inspection committees have toured more than 130,000 institutions across the Kingdom. He added that the ministry's field inspectors found 2,670 violations and referred them to the judiciary. Last week alone, 200 institutions were closed across the Kingdom, Petra said.
