Ababneh and Odwan join Jordanian delegation in UN Security Council

NEWYORK — Upon Jordan’s request, Omar Ababneh and Fares Odwan on Thursday were accredited as representatives of the Jordanian delegation to the UN Security Council.
The delegation is headed by HH Prince Zeid Raad, who is Jordan’s permanent representative at the UN. Jordan currently holds the non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council for the Asia-Pacific bloc.

The Cabinet on Wednesday appointed Dina Kawar as Jordan’s permanent representative to the UN, succeeding HRH Prince Zeid who submitted his resignation in April upon his request.
Lower House speaker Atef Tarawneh on Monday met with Kazakh Ambassador to Jordan Azamat Berdibay and discussed several issues of mutual concern.
Jordan will officially assume the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council for one month as of April 1.
