AMMAN — Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh on Thursday conveyed holiday greetings to Christians in Jordan, Arab nations and the world on the occasion of Easter, which will be marked on Sunday, April 19, 2020, according to the Julian calendar.

In a joint press briefing with Greek Orthodox Archbishop and Head of the Jordan Churches Council Christophorus Attallah at the Prime Ministry, Adaileh said that Muslims and Christians alike are “saddened” by not being able to visit places of worship due to the current situation, especially as Easter and Ramadan approach.

For his part, Archbishop Attallah said that the council is calling on Christians to pray at their homes in line with the 48-hour comprehensive curfew, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Archbishop Attallah conveyed greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah on the occasion, commending His Majesty’s and the government’s efforts in combatting the novel coronavirus.
