AMMAN – Amman Design Week (ADW) on Wednesday announced the launch of the Urban Park Design Competition, organised in partnership with the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and Mohammad Zakaria, co-founder of 7Hills Skatepark, according to a ADW statement.
The competition invites urban, architectural and landscape designers to transform the Samir Al Rifai Park, located on Prince Mohammad Street, into a functional recreational space.
A jury of architects and city representatives will select one winning designer or team to receive a JD5000 grant for the implementation of their proposal, and will be given the chance to present the design during Amman Design Week, taking place from October 6 to 14, the statement added.
Under Amman Design Week’s initiative aims to address local urban issues, by encouraging designers to think about creative ways to integrate facilities and recreational spaces to promote a sense of community and active lifestyle in Amman.
