CBJ establishes Fintech academy to boost innovation in banking sector

AMMAN — Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) Adel Sharkas has announced the establishment of the Jordanian Financial Technology Academy “Fintech” under the umbrella of the Institute of Banking Studies.
Sharkas, during the launching ceremony, stressed that this initiative embodies the bank’s commitment to embracing technological advancement and enhancing innovation in the financial and banking sector, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The governor highlighted the bank’s strategic vision to fill the knowledge gap in financial technology and innovation, in line with the Kingdom’s Economic Modernisation Vision for 2023-2033.
He said that the academy would serve as a regional beacon for financial innovation, providing specialised education and robust training programmes in financial technology.
Sharkas noted that these programmes are designed to equip professionals in the financial and banking sector, future leaders, businessmen, and entrepreneurs with the essential skills to evolve and continue progress in the rapidly evolving financial landscape.
