Child dies in partial roof collapse

AMMAN — A five-year-old girl died on Sunday in the capital’s Jabal Al Taj neighbourhood after the upper floor of a four-storey building partially collapsed, according to the Civil Defence Department (CDD).
The partial collapse resulted in cracks in the first and second floors, according to a CDD statement, which added the building’s residents were evacuated. CDD Director Lt. Gen. Talal Kofahi and representatives of other authorities rushed to the scene, where a specialised committee was formed to identify the causes of the collapse, according to the statement.
