Child dies of smoke inhalation, 2 siblings hospitalised

AMMAN — One child died and two siblings were hospitalised for smoke inhalation after a fire erupted in their house in Irbid’s Sarih area. Irbid Civil Defence Department (CDD) Director Brig. Gen. Munib Awawdeh said that CDD personnel extinguished the fire that erupted in the first floor of a two-storey building, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The children were home alone.
The two injured children were taken to Prince Rashid Hospital, where they were reported to be in fair condition. Awawdeh said initial findings indicate that the fire was caused by a heater.
