AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, HRH Prince Ghazi Bin Muhammad, His Majesty’s chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy on Wednesday met with Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al Rabiah over mechanisms aimed at facilitating procedures for Jordanian pilgrims.

Prince Ghazi expressed his appreciation of the Saudi efforts to receive Hajj pilgrims and umrah performers and the development of services presented to them, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Hajj is the greater Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca and one of the five pillars of Islam, and umrah is the lesser Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca that can be taken at any time of the year.

The meeting covered the “historical and brotherly” relations between the countries and peoples, under the leadership of King Abdullah and Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Awqaf Minister Mohammed Khalaileh, Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Nayef Al Sudairi and the Saudi minister’s accompanying delegation attended the meeting held at Al Husseiniya Palace.
