Environmental empowerment project launched

AMMAN — The National Centre for Environmental Justice (CNES) on Saturday launched an empowerment project under the theme "Towards Sustainable Environmental Justice".
The project, supported by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), aims at formulating the concept of collective participation in realising environmental justice and achieving environmental awareness.
It also focuses on involvement in environmental policy making, in cooperation with various stakeholders. Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment Ahmed Qatarna, during the launching ceremony, highlighted the role of the media in supporting the environmental sector to face its challenges.
Mohammed Eiadat, head of the CNES, stressed the importance of raising awareness about environmental issues, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
