Hassan, Mikati discuss Israeli aggression on Lebanon, regional tensions

AMMAN — Prime Minister Jafar Hassan met on Monday with Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the Prime Ministry in Amman over the repercussions of the recent Israeli aggression against Lebanon and the escalating tensions in the region.

During the meeting, Hassan reiterated Jordan’s unwavering support for Lebanon’s security, sovereignty, and stability, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The prime minister also condemned the Israeli attacks, calling for adherence to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.

Mikati expressed his appreciation for Jordan's solidarity during this difficult time, extending his gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah, the Kingdom's leadership, government, and people for their unwavering support.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi and Lebanon’s Ambassador to Jordan Youssef Raji attended the meeting.
