AMMAN — Minister of Health Mahmoud Sheyyab on Wednesday announced the shutdown of a private hospital in Irbid and issued a warning against another hospital in Amman, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
According to the director of the licensing department at the ministry, Nasser Kashman, the hospital was shut down due to alleged violations of the regulations for private hospitals and the Public Health Law. The hospital will only be reopened once the violations are rectified, he added.
The minister’s decision came after field visits by the Private Hospitals Inspection Committee, which revealed the “presence of expired materials, insufficient staff and other irregularities”, violations that the hospital had been previously warned about, according to Petra.
