AMMAN — The Lower House Palestine Committee and a delegation from the Civic Coalition for Palestinian Rights in Jerusalem (CCPRJ) on Wednesday ways to strengthen the Jerusalemites' steadfastness to confront the repeated Israeli violations in the holy city, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Speaking during the meeting, the committee's chairman, MP Mohammed Dhahrawi, affirmed Jordan's role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah in defending the Palestinian cause and the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem through the Hashemite Custodianship. The MP stressed the importance of cooperation and partnership between the committee and the CCPRJ in a way that serves Jerusalemites.
The committee condemned incursions in the holy city made recently by several extremist Jewish settlers, representing the right-wing organisation "Women for the Temple", into occupied Jerusalem, where provocative Talmudic rituals were performed. For their part, the CCPRJ delegation presented the most prominent challenges facing their work in Jerusalem, highlighting the Jerusalemites' suffering in light of the Israeli policies.
