House speaker meets with veterans association head

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat on Monday met retired Brig. Gen. Thalaj Thiabat, director general of the Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans, over means of supporting retired service personnel and veterans.
Oddat, during the meeting, expressed the chamber’s appreciation of retired service personnel and veterans’ efforts and sacrifices to safeguard the country, voicing keenness on supporting them in all fields and highlighting the importance of the "Brothers in Arms” programme to support retired service personnel and veterans, which His Majesty King Abdullah has directed the relevant agencies to start executing it.
The programme prepared by HRH Crown Prince Hussein in cooperation with the related bodies, shows the King and Crown Prince’s keenness on following up on the conditions and demands of military retirees and veterans, he said, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Thiabat, for his part, reviewed a set of aspirations to improve the conditions of retired service personnel and veterans, expressing appreciation of Royal directives and HRH Crown Prince’s efforts in this arena.
