JEA demands increasing averages required for engineering majors

AMMAN — Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) President Ahmad Samara Zu’bi on Saturday called for reconsidering university admission criteria for engineering majors in general, and stagnant majors in particular, urging the related bodies to raise the minimum admission rates for engineering majors to control unemployment rates.
More than 35,000 engineers are jobless, which constitutes some 20 per cent of the Kingdom’s engineers, Zu’bi said, highlighting that the impacts of the pandemic in this arena, the Jordan news Agency, Petra, reported.
