Jerusalem’s Royal committee secretary urges for exposing Israeli war crimes in Gaza

AMMAN — Secretary-General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs Abdullah Kanaan on Sunday called on the world to expose the Israeli crimes committed against the Palestinian people, primarily genocide and brutal ethnic cleansing.

In a statement on the occasion of the World Youth Skills Day (WYSD), which is annually celebrated on July 15, Kanaan said that the free world has to make every moment appropriate to expose Israel's crimes to save Palestinian youth from murder and injustice, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He added that the Israeli occupation army killed thousands of Palestinians, demolished homes and institutions and destroyed neighbourhoods in the occupied Gaza Strip and West Bank cities, noting that this policy reflects the tragic and dangerous conditions of youth in Palestine.

Kanaan noted these Israeli practices are carried out as the occupation deliberately targets specific groups, primarily children and youth.

The committee, on the WYSD occasion, which is marked this year under the theme: "Youth Skills for Peace and Development", reminds the world of the tragedy of the youth of Palestine, who are denied the most basic rights to life and human dignity, he said.

The secretary-general called for supporting and protecting Palestinian youth internationally from murder and genocide and directing further support and assistance to them, mainly through launching Arab, Islamic and global youth initiatives that would raise awareness of public opinion about the dangerous conditions of youth of Palestine.

Jordan, under Royal directives and as part of the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites, provides many forms of support to the Palestinian people, including the youth, Kanaan pointed out.
