AMMAN — Interior Minister Mazen Farayah in April issued a decision to grant FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 ticket holders of any nationality multiple-entry visas to Jordan without prior approval, Interior Ministry Spokesperson Tareq Majali said on Monday.
During a broadcast on Al Mamlaka TV, Majali said that the decision is general, meaning that no nationality is excluded. People of any nationality holding a World Cup ticket or the official card issued to participating teams will be allowed entry into the Kingdom upon arrival at the airport.
He added that the ministry is prepared to receive the Kingdom’s guests and World Cup attendees through coordination with stakeholders to provide necessary services to demonstrate the “civil and positive view” of Jordan.
The spokesperson said that the decision was made to facilitate procedures to guarantee the easy movement of fans and World Cup teams to and from the Kingdom.
Majali added that these services aim to enhance the tourism sector and the national economy through attracting fans to this global event, scheduled to be hosted by Qatar in November.
