Jordan, US discuss environmental challenges

AMMAN — Environment Minister Taher Shakhshir and US Ambassador to Jordan Alice G. Wells on Monday discussed ways to boost environment cooperation.
They reviewed the accomplishments to date of joint environment projects between Jordan and USAID.
Shakhshir highlighted the growing burdens on the country’s environment as a result of the increasing number of Syrian refugees, stressing the need for combining efforts to assist the Kingdom deal with environmental issues.
