Environment minister meets with Lebanese counterpart

AMMAN — Environment Minister Taher Shakhshir and his Lebanese counterpart Muhammad Al Mashnouq on Monday discussed joint environment issues and cooperation prospects.
The discussions were held in preparation for the conference of Arab environment ministers that will be held in Jeddah in November.
The officials said the two countries share the same environmental issues, whether in terms of air and water pollution, climate change or waste management and treatment.
Shakhshir and Mashnouq discussed exchanging expertise in this context, as well as in raising awareness on the importance of protecting the environment.
