Jordan welcomes Sudan peace deal

AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Monday welcomed the signing of a preliminary peace agreement between the Sudanese transitional government and the Sudan Revolutionary Front in Juba, South Sudan.
The ministry highlighted the importance of the deal in realising security, stability and peace in Sudan and meeting the aspirations of the Sudanese people in achieving development and prosperity, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The ministry also expressed the Kingdom's support to Sudan in their endeavours to realise peace and enhance sovereignty and independence, commending the efforts of all stakeholders in prioritising the national interest and South Sudan's efforts in reaching this deal.
