AMMAN — The Jordanian-Iraqi Business Forum is scheduled to kick off in Baghdad on Wednesday featuring the participation of business owners and investors from both countries.
The three-day forum, under the slogan "Partnership for the Future," is organised by the Jordan chambers of commerce and industry, and the Jordanian Businessmen Association, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Jordanian delegation includes representatives of companies operating in various industries, such as foodstuff, communications, information technology, medicine, clothing, financial and banking services, insurance, construction, contracting, real estate development, tourism, agriculture, mining and plastic.
In light of the current global economic situation, the forum provides an opportunity for the Jordanian and Iraqi private sectors to work together and take advantage of the opportunities presented, in a bid to advance the strategic goals and common interests of the two countries.
The forum will be held in conjunction with the joint Jordanian-Iraqi committee meetings, and will feature bilateral meetings between Jordanian and Iraqi businesses, as well as an overview of investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
The delegation is one of the largest-ever economic delegations to visit Baghdad, reflecting Jordan's desire to develop close economic ties with Iraq and support the initiatives launched by His Majesty King Abdullah and Iraqi leadership
