AMMAN — Jordan's poverty indicators for 2021/2022 is scheduled to be released in early 2023, when an ongoing survey of household expenditures and income is completed, Director General of the Department of Statistics (DoS) Shaher Shawabkeh said on Sunday.
During a meeting with the Lower House Finance Committee, Shawabkeh said that the survey is planned to be completed in October 2022, adding that 55 per cent of the study sample, which comprises 25,000 households across the country and at Syrian refugee camps, has already been surveyed, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The survey aims to gather information based on household income and expenditure, as well as other basic statistics, in a bid to examine poverty in society, including non-financial "multi-dimensional" poverty.
