King meets key business executives at Sun Valley forum

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania, on Saturday participated in the Economic Forum held at Sun Valley, Idaho, attended by leading US and world  economic figures.  

On the sidelines of the forum, the King met with businessmen and representatives of US and international mega-companies over prospects of economic cooperation with Jordan and ways to benefit from the investment-related incentives and opportunities available in Jordan. 

King Abdullah highlighted development programmes and mega-projects that the country is implementing in various fields in cooperation with the private sector, and regional and international companies, according to a Royal Court statement. 

Businessmen commended the King’s efforts to boost the country’s economic performance, achieve economic development and lure investments to Jordan.  

The King met with representatives of several companies, including Netflix, a leading Internet television network company, Riverstone Holdings, which invests in energy and power industries, in particular. He also met with representatives of Palantir technologies and Amazon.com. 

Since 1983, the Sun Valley Economic Forum has been held annually in July and leading businessmen from world countries converge on the valley every year to meet and discuss political and economic challenges. 

 

On the sidelines of his participation, the King also met with US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter and reviewed the cooperation between Jordan and the US in military fields.
