King visits PSD, commends personnel’s efforts in dealing with Luweibdeh building collapse

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Thursday visited the Public Security Directorate (PSD) and commended its personnel’s efforts in dealing with the Luweibdeh building collapse.
King Abdullah praised the skills and professionalism of the search and rescue teams working around the clock at the site, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty called for continuing to expand training and capacity building programmes for rescue teams, and to provide them with the latest equipment to ensure they are able to undertake their duties.
The King was briefed by PSD Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah on the latest measures taken since the collapse of the building in Luweibdeh area, as rescue teams continue working at the site.
Maaytah highlighted the PSD’s plans to address security issues, traffic problems and countering crime and drugs.
