Labour Ministry marks World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2022

AMMAN — Adherence to safety and health standards is a shared interest for both employers and workers, and to ensure a sustainable of production cycle, Labour Minister Nayef Istitieh said on Thursday.
On the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2022, which falls on April 28, Istitieh highlighted the ministry's efforts, through the occupational safety and health department, to ensure safe work environments.
He added that the ministry's staffs conduct inspection tours to check on private sector's adherence to safety and health requirements, according to a ministry statement.
The annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work promotes the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally, according to the International Labour Organisation website.
Under the theme “Act together to build a positive safety and health culture”, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2022 focuses on enhancing social dialogue towards a culture of safety and health, the website added.
