Lower House Palestine Committee affirms UNRWA’s vital role in Palestinian refugee assistance

AMMAN — Chairman of the Lower House’s Palestine Committee Feras Ajarmeh reiterated on Tuesday, during the committee meeting, UNRWA’s crucial role in assisting Palestinian refugees.
Ajarmeh also highlighted Jordan’s efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah in defending the Palestinian cause and halting Israeli aggression on Gaza, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. He also acknowledged His Majesty’s efforts in international forums to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and achieve a comprehensive and just peace which is the only path for regional security and stability.
Ajarmeh also highlighted His Majesty’s efforts in supporting UNRWA to ensure the continuation of providing its services for Palestinian refugees, emphasising the ongoing collaboration between the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) and the agency in Jordan.
Director of UNRWA in Jordan, Olaf Baker, underlined the significance of His Majesty’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and his continuous support for the agency, including financial support.
He also highlighted that Jordan is one of the leading countries hosting refugees, emphasising the agency’s contribution in educational, health, and relief services for Palestinians.
