Man arrested for allegedly murdering father

AMMAN — Public Security Directorate (PSD) personnel on Tuesday arrested a man who allegedly confessed to killing his father in a family dispute in Zarqa, according to the PSD spokesperson. The spokesperson said that PSD agents received a tip-off that the body of the 50-year-old father was lying in a house in the commercial centre of Zarqa and found that he had been shot twice and died instantly, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. After collecting information from the crime scene, suspicion fell on the victim's son, who was arrested and "confessed" to shooting his father over family disputes and the weapon was seized, the police official said. He added that a team of Zarqa police and criminal police was assigned to investigate the incident, prior to sending the case to judicial authorities.
